Below is a list of current pine straw and timber sales open for bids on state-owned forest lands. It is very important for bidders to read the exact specifications for every solicitation and follow precisely the instructions included therein to be considered.
Sand Hills State Forest

Invitation to Bid on SCFC Timber – SFI / ATFS Certified Timber – at Sand Hills State Forest. Bids will open Tuesday, October 27, 2026 at 10 a.m. Bids can be mailed, hand delivered or emailed. All correspondence must reference bid on Forest Products Sale SHSF-5378-ADV-TS-27 and in the form of: one blended price per ton for all pine products and one blended price per ton for all hardwood products. Payment in the full amount of the performance bond is to be made within ten (10) days of notification of Forestry Commission approval.

Sand Hills State Forest will accept sealed bids on the attached bid form until 10 a.m., Thursday, October 22, 2026, for the sale of approximately 1,823 acres of longleaf and mixed pine straw. The sale areas are in Compartments 19 & 20 and consist of 49 separate stands. The sale areas are described on the enclosed bid sheet and maps. All sale areas are in longleaf pine or mixed pine. An orange sign indicating Stand Number and Acreage will be placed at a visible location for each stand.
Bidders are encouraged to inspect the sale area to determine the volume estimates and raking conditions. Site visits may be made at any time. The SC Forestry Commission will not be responsible for areas that are overbid. Indicate on the envelope SHSF 5381 ADV PS 27. Payment in full by certified check payable to the SC Forestry Commission is to be made by the successful bidder within twenty (20) calendar days of bid opening. A performance bond of $500 is also required before raking may begin. The successful bidders will have until February 12, 2027 (90 days) to remove the straw.

Invitation to Bid – SCFC Timber Sale – Francis Marion National Forest – Long Cane. Bids Will Open Sept. 10, 2026, at 11 a.m. at FMNF Headquarters 2967 Steed Creek Road Huger SC 29450. Bids can be mailed, hand-delivered or emailed to John Bryan at the address above or at JBryan@scfc.gov. All correspondence Must Reference: Att. John Bryan, Bid on Forest Products Sale FM 012 ADV TS 27 Weather Station and in the format/form of: a per unit price for all pine products and a per unit price for all hardwood products. Payments and weight scale tickets will be submitted weekly. Payment of the performance bond is due at the signing of contract.
